Welcome to the General Gordon Hotel, a relaxed pub and locals’ favourite in Sydenham since the 1930s.

Named after the 19th Century English military general, the General Gordon Hotel has been valiantly serving the community as local watering hole for over 80 years. Sitting directly opposite the Sydenham train station, the General Gordon Hotel is the perfect spot to drop by for a cold beer, tasty meal and laid-back atmosphere any day of the week.

Often referred to as “the pride of Sydenham”, the General Gordon Hotel was the work of famous Aussie architect Sidney Warden – the guy behind the classic Light Brigade in Paddo, the Landsdowne, The Old Clare and Broadway Hotel.

Today the Hotel has been restored to its former glory and maintains its historic charm. Come grab a bite to eat in the bistro, relax with mates in the beer garden and watch all the action from the Sport Bar.
